Defend free speech

Free speech and freedom of expression are the most fundamental rights.

Justin Trudeau wants to control what you see and say online.  Instead of having a debate over ideas, he wants to ban the ideas he doesn’t like.  Experts have raised alarm bells at how Trudeau’s censorship bill will negatively affect not only artists and creators but every Canadian who watches videos or listens to music or podcasts online.

With these new powers, the Liberals will be able to influence what shows up on your social media feed.  No democracy on earth gives leaders these kinds of powers.  Even executives at Twitter mused that Trudeau’s bill looked “more like something that would come from a country like Iran.”

The Liberals have also put forward a proposal to establish a “Digital Harms Commissioner” who would oversee what is posted online.  This will be an unelected bureaucrat who will get the power to dictate and determine what is considered harmful, which promises to be a disaster.

Branden believes that in a democracy like Canada, the government should not have the power to dictate what Canadians can see or say on the Internet.  He will defend freedom of speech and oppose Trudeau’s plan to control what you see and say online.

He will fight to repeal Liberal internet regulations or censorship laws and fire any future “Digital Harms Commissioner”.
